I recently had the pleasure of photographing Quinn and Jan’s wedding on the shores of the magnificent Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye. I met the bride and groom, their four witnesses and the registrar, Angela, late morning in Elgol. The midges were out and the there was rain in the air but everyone was in high spirits! We boarded the Eilean a’Cheo and sailed across Loch Scavaig, close to a colony of seals, before disembarking in the heart of the spectacular Cuillin mountains. We followed the river, the shortest in Scotland, to Loch Coruisk and found a suitable spot for the ceremony. The weather was a little wild with the rain coming on towards the end of the ceremony and Quinn’s veil blowing off during her vows!
Thankfully the weather improved and we were able to capture some lovely images at Loch Coruisk before returning to the boat where the couple signed the marriage register and held their quaich ceremony on the return crossing to Elgol! Safely back on dry land, Quinn and Jan, posed for a few photos on a bike (the couple are keen cyclists) before taking a short stroll along the stone beach to honeycomb rock. We stopped at a couple of locations on the road to Broadford then the couple made their way north to the Cuillin Hills Hotel in Portree to continue the celebrations!
Congratulations to you both!
