As 2018 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on a busy year of wedding photography. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many lovely couples at some stunning venues throughout Scotland. Most of my weddings this year took place in the Highlands and Islands and Moray; from Inverness to Kinloss; and from the shores of the spectacular Loch Coruisk on Skye to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle in Wester Ross.
I’ve also had the privilege of capturing some beautiful weddings further afield, at Abercairny Stables in Perthshire, the Old Fruitmarket and City Halls in Glasgow, the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, and Balinakill Country House in Kintyre. Most of the couples were local but I also had the pleasure of meeting and photographing brides and grooms from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and the USA!
The smallest wedding had only four guests and the largest had around 200. Most of the couples were blessed with sunshine during the warmest, driest summer during my lifetime, but there were a few occasions when my white golf umbrella came in useful! Every wedding was unique but what they all had in common was lots of love and laughter, which I’m passionate about capturing on camera. I love telling the story of the wedding day with candid images, detailed shots, group photographs, and relaxed and naturally posed couple shots.
Congratulations and thank you to all the couples who worked with me this year and have booked me for next year. I look forward to another eventful year in 2019 and hope you’ll continue to enjoy my wedding photography blog here on www.karenthorburnweddings.com where you can also find more images from my portfolio and testimonials.
