James and Rachel struck gold with the weather on their wedding day in June! After several days of rain, the sun finally came out on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands.
Rachel spent the morning getting ready in Avoch with her mum, bridesmaids and flower girls. I’ve seen a lot of lovely brides over the years but I thought Rachel looked particularly beautiful with her very natural make-up and gorgeous hairstyle.
I headed round to Avoch Congregational Church in time to capture some of the guests arriving. A small crowd of well wishers had gathered on the pavement opposite, which added to the sense of occasion as the bridal car rolled up!
Rachel’s mum walked her down the aisle and the ceremony got underway. It was a lovely service with the perfect blend of love and laughter. Candid is my favourite style of photography and I just love some of the expressions on the faces of the bride and groom!
After a few photos with Louis the dog at Rachel’s gran’s house, we headed to Avoch Harbour for some photographs overlooking the bay, before moving on to Cromarty for the reception at Victoria Hall. Rachel and James had decorated the hall themselves; I’m sure you’ll agree it looked lovely. The couple cut their cake then took their seats for the speeches and meal, before dancing the night away to Rythm n Reel.
Here are a few memories from James and Rachel’s wedding. Congratulations to you both!
