There’s a lot to think about when planning your wedding! Grab a cup of tea and sit back and relax while I do my best to answer your questions about your wedding photography!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries which I haven’t answered here.

How long will you be present at the wedding?

This depends on which photography package you choose and your requirements for the day. If you request a full day’s coverage, I will arrive in the morning to capture the preparations and will finish after the first few dances of your evening reception. I’m happy to offer you a discounted rate if you don’t need coverage of getting ready or the dancing.

What photographs will you capture?

My style is to tell a story with candid images capturing all the emotions; and semi-posed but relaxed and natural couple and group shots. I’m driven by capturing those perfect moments on a wedding day; natural, raw emotions; tears and laughter. I love telling a story with photographs.

Each wedding will typically include a mixture of colour and monochrome images. I love working with colour but find that black and white can look ‘timeless’ in wedding photography. I will also take time to capture the all-important details which you will have planned so meticulously!

Do you do formal and group shots?

My parents always regretted not having a group photograph from their wedding. I’m always happy to do this; just let me know in advance. I suggest allocating around 20 to 30 minutes after the ceremony for group and family photographs, typically involving the bridal party and closest family members.

I also like to spend some time alone with the bride and groom, then you can relax and get on with the rest of your wedding day without interruptions! I love working outdoors in natural light (weather permitting!) but I am also happy to capture your couple shots indoors and showcase your venue. If it does rain and you’re happy to brave the elements, I have a large white umbrella which you are welcome to borrow.

Will you stay until the first dance?

I will stay until the first few dances if you select either my silver, gold or platinum photography package. I’ll finish for the night when I know I’ve captured everything I need for you. If you select a bespoke package, I’ll be happy to discuss with you the amount of photography coverage that you need.

Do you travel?

Yes! I’m based near Inverness and will be happy to travel throughout the Highland region (including Skye), Moray, Aberdeenshire and as far south as the Central Belt for no extra charge. I’m happy to travel further afield but may need to charge a little extra, e.g. to cover ferry fares to the islands, or for travel to southern Scotland.

Do you cover winter weddings?

Yes, I do. We may need to do more of the couple and group photographs indoors, which I am more than happy to do. Due to the shorter daylight hours in winter, you may need to give some extra thought to the timing of the ceremony if you are planning on having outdoor photographs taken afterwards.

Do you shoot same sex weddings?

Yes, absolutely. I would be delighted to capture your special day for you both. I will gladly take the time to discuss your vision for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony and exactly what you would like from the photographs.

Do you supply wedding albums?

Call me old-fashioned but I still love to print photographs, even in the digital age! I supply luxury matted albums which are created by Jorgensen UK and are beautifully finished using the highest quality materials. The images are presented in mounts (similar to framed photographs) and offer a timeless and robust alternative to printed books. The albums have oatmeal linen covers and gold foil embossing.

These are top quality albums – future family heirlooms – for you and your loved ones to treasure for years to come.

I offer a range of album sizes to suit different budgets. Unlike many photographers, I don’t impose any restrictions on the number of images in my medium and large albums. The layouts are very versatile, meaning you can showcase a single image or multiple photographs on a page.

Once I have individually edited all of your digital images, I will produce a first draft of your album, which will then be adjusted with your input until we arrive at a design that you love.

The cost of the wedding album is included in my gold and platinum photography packages. You are welcome to upgrade your package after the initial booking, purchase additional albums, or request a bespoke package where you select which albums you require.

Do you supply framed prints?

I can’t think of a better way to remember your wedding on a daily basis than to have some beautiful wall art on display in your home. I supply professionally framed prints, created in the UK using the highest quality lustre photographic paper and mouldings in a selection of finishes. I offer a range of sizes to suit different budgets and spaces within your home. I would be delighted to email you a mock-up of how your images will look when mounted and framed before you proceed with your purchase.

What photography packages do you offer?

My main photography packages are listed here. I’m flexible and am happy to discuss your requirements with you before providing a customised quote if needed.

What happens after the wedding?

I will individually edit and enhance all of the images to a high standard. Your photographs will be presented in a secure online password-protected gallery and delivered to your door on a USB drive. The images will be ready within eight weeks of the wedding. Often it will be much quicker but it will depend on my workload!

I will be happy to provide a small number of images shortly after the wedding for you to use on thank you cards or share on social media etc., if requested. I will also create a slideshow of images set to music once the processing of the photographs is complete.

How do we enquire or book?

If you have decided to go ahead and book your wedding photography… brilliant! All you need to do is contact me. I will be delighted to hear from you via my website, or by email, phone or social media.

To confirm your booking, I will simply need you to complete a booking form and pay a 25% deposit. The remaining balance will be due two months before your wedding.

Don’t put it off! My calendar fills up quickly, sometimes years in advance, and bookings are taken on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Get in touch and let’s start planning your wedding photography. I’m really looking forward to working with you!
