One of my favourite weddings this summer was the marriage of Lauren and Zakk in Strathpeffer.
The day started in the lovely modern Peffer Lodge at the west end of the town, on three floors with lots of natural light. All the bridal party got ready here, so Lauren and Zakk had to be careful not to bump into each other before the ceremony!
Lauren’s brother Neil traveled with Lauren in the bridal car and gave her away. I love the image where Helen, the mother of the bride, is dabbing away a tear as Lauren and Neil walk down the aisle! Lauren and Zakk’s baby boy, Ruairidh, was so good during the ceremony; he didn’t make a sound and watched the proceedings as intently as everyone else! Laura Gillespie conducted a lovely, personal humanist ceremony for Lauren and Zakk, complete with a handfasting.
After a glass of champagne, Lauren and Zakk and their guests lined up on the steps of Strathpeffer Pavilion for the group photos and confetti shots. We captured some family photos too, before I took Lauren and Zakk on a short walk around the gardens for their couple’s photographs.
The afternoon seemed to fly by and it wasn’t long before the guests had to take their seats. The speeches are always a great opportunity for capturing those candid moments, and Lauren and Zakk’s wedding certainly didn’t disappoint! After the meal, Rhythmnreel got set up for an evening of Celtic Rock and ceilidh dancing! The bride and groom had their first dance while baby Ruairidh looked on wearing his wee ear defenders!
Congratulations Lauren and Zakk! Here are a few memories from the day.
