There’s a lot to think about when planning your wedding! Grab a cup of tea and sit back and relax while I do my best to answer your questions about your photography in my wedding FAQs!

“Wanted to say what gorgeous photos you took. Everyone is delighted with the natural style. Thank you so much!”
FAY AND ERIC DUFF
VENUE: GLEN MHOR HOTEL, INVERNESS
This depends on which photography package you choose and your plans for the day. If you'd like a full day's coverage, I'll arrive in the morning to photograph you getting ready, and will finish after the first few dances.
Don’t worry! You won’t have a camera in your face the whole time while you’re getting your hair and make-up done! I’ll give you plenty of space and will spend a lot of time photographing your dress, shoes, flowers and accessories. By the time the ceremony comes round, you’ll be completely comfortable with my camera snapping away in the background!
Essentially, I specialise in three things: candid pictures full of emotion; traditional, timeless images; and artistic shots of all your wee details.
I'll try to blend into the background as much as possible, letting events unfold naturally. You and your guests will have loads of real moments to look back on in years to come. Priceless memories!
I'll blend this documentary approach with more classic pictures. I'll gently pose you in a way that looks and feels very natural. Don't worry, it'll all be pretty informal and enjoyable.
I know you also want a record of all the little details that add personal touches to your day. Everything from your dress to your bouquet; the seating plan to the cake topper. I have an eye for detail (a female thing?!) and I'll make time to capture it all.
Each wedding will typically include a mixture of colour and monochrome images. I love working with colour but find that black and white can look ‘timeless’ in wedding photography.
Yes, absolutely!
I know you’ll want to relax with your guests after the ceremony, but the best use of time is to dive straight into the group shots before anyone wanders off! We’ll chat about this in our pre-wedding consultation and I’ll ask you to provide a list before the wedding.
I recommend allocating up to half an hour, especially if you’d like to include a picture with all of your day guests. For this whole group shot, we’ll do a ‘formal’ picture, followed by a more fun one (I always prefer the fun one)!
The key to ensuring the group shots don’t take up too much time is to prioritise the bridal party and your closest family members. I’m flexible though… after all, it’s your wedding!
You’ll have earned a glass of bubbly and some canapés after your group photos! Have a break, catch up with your guests, then we’ll move on to your couple shots when you’re ready!
I’ll stay until the first few dances if you select one of my all-day photography packages. I don't clock-watch and I’ll only finish for the night once I know I’ve captured everything I need for you!
If you choose a bespoke package, we’ll chat about the amount of photography coverage that you need.
Yes! I’m based near Inverness and I travel throughout the Highlands (including Skye), Moray, Aberdeenshire, and as far south as the Central Belt for no extra charge. I’m happy to travel further afield but may need to charge a little extra, e.g. to cover ferry fares to the islands.
I’ve photographed weddings in Perthshire, Angus, Argyll, Edinburgh and Glasgow in the past and would gladly do so again.
Look no further! I’ve photographed plenty of winter weddings.
Due to the shorter daylight hours, you may need to give some extra thought to the timing of the ceremony if you’re planning on outdoor photographs afterwards.
I might photograph the group shots indoors, so your guests aren’t hanging around in the cold for too long!
Again, look no further! I would be delighted to capture your special day for you both. I’ll gladly take the time to discuss your vision for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony and exactly what you would like from the photographs.
I normally work alone and am comfortable doing so regardless of the size of wedding.
A trusted and experienced second shooter is included in my Platinum photography package.
My Silver and Gold packages can be upgraded to include a second photographer.
I know we’re living in the digital age but it’s absolutely vital to print your wedding photographs. Take a moment to think about the longevity of your images...
If you have a family, you’re going to want your wedding photographs to be passed down the generations, from your children to your grandchildren.
I hope that JPEGs and USB drives will stand the test of time, but it’s not the same as having a beautifully presented wedding album... something to cherish throughout your married life.
I supply traditional matted albums (handmade in the UK by Jorgensen) which are beautifully finished using the highest quality materials. The images are presented in mounts (similar to framed photographs) and offer a timeless and robust alternative to printed books. The albums have lovely oatmeal linen covers and gold foil embossing.
What better way is there to remember your wedding on a daily basis than to have some stunning wall art on display in your home?
Just imagine how your friends and family will react when they walk into your home and see your beautifully presented wedding photographs!
I supply luxury wall art, created in Scotland, using the highest quality lustre photographic paper and mouldings in a selection of finishes. A range of sizes are available to suit different spaces within your home. A large 24" x 24" multi-print frame is included with my Platinum photography package.
All my wedding photography packages include the following:
* A comprehensive pre-wedding consultation to chat through the details of the day;
* All day coverage from getting ready to the first few dances;
* Post production digital editing with each file carefully selected and edited in my signature, classic style;
* A password-protected online gallery to share with family and friends, with a facility for purchasing prints;
* High resolution printable images on a USB drive; and
* Commitment to providing you with beautiful imagery and products and the very highest standard of client service.
Please don’t feel too restricted by the packages! I’m flexible and appreciate that you might have different requirements, which is absolutely fine! I’ll be happy to discuss a bespoke package with you if needed.
I’ll individually edit all of your photographs to a high standard. After all, I’m a perfectionist!
Your images will be ready within a maximum of eight weeks. Normally it'll be MUCH quicker! In the meantime, I’ll provide a small number of images shortly after the wedding for you to use on thank you cards or to share on social media. I remember how excited I was to receive my pictures when I got married, so I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer than necessary!
Your photographs will be presented in a secure online password-protected gallery (which you’re welcome to share with family and friends), and delivered to your door on a USB drive.
If you choose either my Gold or Platinum photography package, I’ll also create a stunning video slideshow of your best images once the processing is complete. This will really bring your pictures to life and will no doubt be quite emotional to watch!
If you’ve decided to go ahead and book your wedding photography… brilliant! To confirm your booking, I’ll just need you to complete an online booking form and pay a 25% deposit. The remaining balance will be due two months before your wedding.
Don’t put it off! My calendar fills up quickly, sometimes years in advance, and bookings are taken on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Get in touch and let’s start planning your wedding photography. I’m really looking forward to working with you!
